This guide walks you through registering a new LiveDash® TV device so it can display content on your screens.
You need:
- A LiveDash®-compatible device (Raspberry Pi with PiSignage or Android TV)
- A TV or monitor connected to the device
- Network connectivity (WiFi or Ethernet)
- Access to a SuperAdmin account (for approval)
- Connect your device to the TV via HDMI
- Connect the device to power
- Wait for the device to boot up
- The registration screen appears automatically
The device displays a 6-character registration code (format: ABC-DEF).
You also see two options:
- QR Code - Can be scanned by another device to fill in the registration form
- Manual Registration - Enter details using the on-screen form

Click Submit to send the registration request.
After submitting:
- The device shows "Waiting for approval..."
- The screen automatically checks for approval every 60 seconds
- A SuperAdmin must approve the registration
A SuperAdmin completes the registration:
- Log in to the SuperAdmin dashboard
- Go to Device Registration
- Find the pending registration
- Verify the device details
- Assign the device to a tenant and station
- Click Approve
Once approved:
- The device receives an authentication token
- The screen redirects to your agency's LiveDash® domain
- The device joins the Default Group
- Content starts displaying automatically
The entire process completes without needing to touch the device again.
Approved devices get a standardized name:
Format: AGENCY-H#-LOCATION-LD
Examples:
AFD-H1-DAYROOM-LD (Anytown Fire District, Station 1, Day Room)
MFD-HQ-LOBBY-LD (Metro Fire Department, Headquarters, Lobby)
Once your device is registered and showing content:
- Move to the correct group - If it shouldn't be in the Default Group, move it
- Configure paging - Set whether this device should show dispatch calls
- Deploy changes - Push any playlist changes to the device
- Check with your SuperAdmin that they've approved the device
- Verify the device has network connectivity
- Try restarting the device
- Ensure the device is connected to a network
- Restart the device
- Check that the display connection is working
- Verify the device was assigned to the correct tenant
- Check that the device's group has a playlist assigned
- Try deploying the group's playlist again
