This guide helps you navigate the main interface and understand what features are available based on your permission level.
LiveDash® has three permission levels that control what you can access:
- View-only access to the dashboard and live information
- Access to LiveDash Anywhere to browse content displays
- Cannot modify any content or settings
- Everything a Viewer can do
- Can modify Content sections (Messages, Maintenance, Slideshow)
- Cannot access Administration settings
- Everything an Editor can do
- Full access to Administration sections
- Manage agency settings, integrations, and configurations
- Control playlist and device group management
Access: All Users
Your main dashboard shows real-time information:
- Current on-duty personnel
- Active incidents and dispatch calls
- Vehicle and equipment status
- Weather conditions
- Station activity
- Quick access to common functions
Access: Editor and Administrator
The Content section in the sidebar controls content on your LiveDash® displays. This is where you'll make day-to-day updates.
Create and manage text messages for station displays:
- Emergency alerts and announcements
- Shift briefings and updates
- Training reminders
- General station communications

Track and display vehicle and equipment maintenance:
- Scheduled maintenance items
- Out-of-service equipment
- Maintenance logs and history
Manage image slideshows for station displays:
- Upload custom images and graphics
- Create rotating slideshow content
- Share announcements or safety messages
- Control slide duration and order
Access: All Users (Viewer, Editor, Administrator)
LiveDash Anywhere allows users to access live station displays from any device, anywhere. View the same content that appears on your station TVs directly from:
- Desktop computers
- Tablets
- Mobile phones
- Any web browser
Browse through different display pages that mirror your station screens:
- Landing - Main station display view
- Messages - Current messages and announcements
- Maintenance - Equipment and vehicle status
- Calendar - Agency calendar and events
- Roster - Personnel roster and availability
- Weather - Current weather and forecasts
- Water Level - Water level monitoring (if applicable)
- Traffic Cams - Live traffic camera feeds

LiveDash Anywhere provides remote visibility into station operations without needing physical access to station displays.
Access: Administrator Only
The Administration section provides advanced management and configuration tools.
Under Administration → Page Configuration, you can configure dynamic content pages that display on your TVs and in LiveDash Anywhere:
- Add water level monitoring stations
- Configure alerts and thresholds
- Display live water level data
- Add traffic camera feeds
- Organize cameras by location
- Configure camera display settings
- Set up weather radar sources
- Configure radar display regions
- Customize weather alerts
- Add vehicles to your fleet

Under Administration → LiveDash TV, you can control what content plays on your TV displays:
- Create playlists with multiple content slides
- Add various content types: Messages, Weather, Fleet, Calendar, Slideshows, and more
- Customize slide duration and transitions
- Set playlist order and flow
- Preview playlists before deployment
- Organize TV devices into logical groups (by station, location, or purpose)
- Assign playlists to specific groups
- Schedule content for specific times or date ranges
- Configure dispatch call display settings per group
- Manage device assignments between groups
- Deploy changes to update all devices in a group

Click the bell icon to view:

- Use the left sidebar to access main sections
- Look for breadcrumbs at the top to see your current location
- Most pages have action buttons in the top-right for common tasks
- Expand menu items with arrows to see sub-sections
- Your available options depend on your permission level and enabled features
Many dashboard components can be personalized:
- Set preferred default views
- Configure notification preferences
- Adjust display settings
- Customize dashboard widgets (if enabled)
Check your Account Menu and Administration → Agency for customization options specific to your role.
Q: Why don't I see certain menu items?
A: Menu visibility depends on your permission level (Viewer/Editor/Administrator) and your subscription features. Contact your administrator if you need access to additional sections.
Q: What is the difference between Content and Administration?
A: The Content section is for day-to-day content updates (messages, maintenance, slides). Administration is for system configuration, settings, and advanced management.
